Jevone Williams- Executive Producer

Mr. Williams graduated from Saint Augustines College and then attended The College of The Bahamas for one year. After that, he continued his studies at St. Johns College in Minnesota and later completed his Bachelors Degree  in sociology with a minor in criminology at Capital Univerity in Columbus Ohio.

Mr. Willams then entered the public service in 2002 and was posted at Uriah McPhee Primary as a guidance counselor. At Uriah McPhee, he led many initiatives including a culturally based after school programme and a website club. Mr.Williams has also made many presentations thoughout the Bahamas for the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture, and the Department of Public Service.

 In 2006, Mr. Williams was asked to lead out of the Ministry of Education an initiative that would seek to create locally produced educational programmes. The Bahamas Learning Channel was thus created and Mr. Williams was made Producer of the channel.

Mr. Williams has received local training in the field and international training through seminars and workshops in Orlando Florida, New York, and Mexico City. Many of the techniques and styles he was exposed to has been replicated in The Bahamas Learning Channel programmes such as the usage of animation, green screen technology, and computer based educational game formats.

 The channel moved its operation to The Learning Resources Section in 2008 where he is now situated.The channel under his leadership has grown, improved, and expanded its reach and all indication is that its development will continue for years to come.

Byron Thompson- Chief Editor

  • Byron Thompson is also a trained Music Educator who is employed by the Ministry of Education, where from 1986-2000, he taught music at L.W. Young Secondary School for fourteen years, eight of which he served as Head of that school’s Performing Arts Department from 1993-2000.
  •  Byron Thompson is The National Arts Festival Most Outstanding Music Teacher in 1998. Under Mr. Thompson’s leadership, L.W. Young Performing Arts Department was awarded the E. Clement Bethel Award for Most Outstanding School in Music-three years consecutively 1998-2000. In the annual end of year principal’s report from1993-2000, the school’s principal named the department as the Most Outstanding and Productive Department throughout the entire school for seven years consecutively. Byron is the recipient of the Ministry of Education Performing Arts Educator’s National Recognition Award and National Meritorious Award 2004.
  • While attending Miami Edison Senior High School in Florida during 1978-1981, Byron was awarded a scholarship in 1980 to attend and participate in The Miami Dade Community College High School Honors Summer Music Program. He graduated from high school in 1981. In 1985, Byron received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education /Piano Performance.  In pursuit of his second interest, outside of the performing arts, which is the Multi Media field, Mr. Thompson received certificate training and Apple Computers Certification in, Non-Linear Digital Video Editing and DVD Authoring from Genius DV at Stetson University in Celebration Florida 2003-2005.
  • Byron is presently the Senior Editor of the Ministry of Education’s Bahamas Learning Channel BLC, where he has responsibility for Ministry of Education’s educational video programs that airs on ZNS TV13 and Cable Bahamas Community Channel.

Jeron Williams- Senior Producer

Mr. Williams graduated from Saint Augustines College and then attended The College of The Bahamas for two years. After that, he continued his studies at Capital University, Columbus Ohio where he completed his Bachelors Degree  in sociology with a minor in criminology.

Mr. Willams then entered the public service in 2002 and was posted at Cleveland Eneas Primary as a guidance counselor. He also served as guidance counselor at T.G Glover Primary School. At both schools he brought a high level of creativity and energy to his daily task. Mr. Williams' creativity also made him a sought after presenter and he has thus made presentations on a variety of topics to many schools throughout Nassau and the family islands.

As a result of his high productivity, Mr. Williams was asked to be one of the leaders of the Character Counts initiative. This program which aimed to bring a concentrated attention on the character development of our students was the focus of Mr. Williams for one year. He was then asked to lend his talents to The Bahamas Learning Channel where he was named Assistant Producer.

Mr. Williams has received local training and his energy and talents has led to the expansion of the channel's participants, improvements in set designs, improvements in participant rewards etc.

Mr. Williams looks forward to playing his role in the further development of the Bahamas Learning Channel.
